Seeking Triple Threat Musical Theater Performers/Hosts Teaching Artists for Wicked Workshops
Seeking triple threats performers with teaching experience for “Glinda/Host” and “Wizard/Host” for the "For Good" StudentsLive Wicked Workshop held successfully 8 times in the past 3 years at the Gershwin Theater for 1500 Girl Scouts Nationwide. New Workshop dates: June 8, 2013 in New York, August 3, 2013, Wicked Tour in Houston and February 8, 2014 in New York.
Both the New York June 8, 2013 and Houston August 3, 2013 Workshop’s rehearsal schedule requires approximately two rehearsals per week from mid April 2013 and continuing through travel date of August 2, 2013 for Workshop in Houston. Returning to New York on August 3, 2013 post morning Workshop on August 3, 2103. February 8, 2014 Workshop Rehearsal Schedule TBD in Fall Winter 2013.
Two Mature, Teaching Artists/ Actors needed as the main hosts of a scripted educational event about Wicked prior to the matinee performances. Must have a commanding, charming and Broadway trained Musical Theater presence to engage an audience of 100 to 1500 Girl Scouts on stage of the Houston Hobby Center Theater, the Gershwin Theater in New York and in a large rehearsal studio in New York ( For June 8, 2013)
Actress/Actor doubles as the role of "Glinda" and the "Wizard" in the Workshop for various interactive scripted elements including: A fast paced Introduction to the Themes and Issues in Wicked, a Sing- Along of Wicked Songs, an interactive Wicked Game Show and a For Good Essay Competition. Some elements played in the character of “Glinda” and “Wizard”, some played as Hosts of Educational Workshop Need to represent the same form, style and characterization as the roles are portrayed in Wicked on Broadway.
Per Workshop Fees. Air, Ground Transport, Hotel and Meal Per Diem paid separately for Houston. A great way to gain great and more exposure and future opportunities with High Profile Broadway Company. ( See websites below)
Requirements and Qualifications:
Musical Theater Broadway training or experience.
Children’s Theater or similar larger then life performance presence.
Excellent Dramatic and Comedic acting ability.
Interactive Teaching Artist Experience in front of large audience.
Improvisation/Interactive Hosting Experience for larger audiences.
Excellent track record and self- sufficient memorization, collaborative, creative skills and experience.
Excellent ability to take and follow direction and meet fast paced deadlines
Interviewing/auditioning immediately ( Must be 100% available and able to commit to the above schedule if applying.)
