The Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre of Arlington, VA is seeking a Resident Sound Engineer/Designer and Video Technician to work under the guidance of the Director of Production. This qualified candidate will plan and deliver all sound designs, engineering, and video needs as necessary for all main-stage productions and other plays produced by the company. In addition the ideal candidate will manage the implementation, installation, and strike of all sound elements in coordination with the other production departments by effectively using and managing over-hire staff, facilities, and resources. This is a full-time exempt Staff salaried position. This position shall, as their primary function, supervise the operation and maintenance of the sound and video systems and special effects during rehearsal and performance situations, as well as supervise the production staff in the strike, installation and cueing of sound and special effects. The Head of Sound Department will consult with and advise the Director of Production with respect to the budget, hiring contract labor, and management of new and used equipment.
