Julia Quinn Productions
Category: Internship

Description:

Do you have a passion for musical theater and a head for business? The Future of Broadway Initiative is looking for high-energy, creative and independent interns for spring and summer positions. Learn best practices in content development, audience research, deal structuring, investor relations and strategic partnerships in the business of theater.

PROJECTS
Based on your personal strengths, you will participate in one of the following projects:
• Concept Testing for New Shows: Define and test the appeal and viability of Broadway bound productions through in-depth audience research. Help identify strong points to shape marketing campaigns.
• Participate in Exit Surveys for Currently Running Musicals: Interview audience members and create reports based on pre-determined metrics. Repeat periodically to identify trends.
• Associate Producing: Study best practices in associate producing and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Creative Producing: Work with lead producers to maximize the desired outcome of readings and workshops.
• Strategic Partnerships: Suggest and help negotiate partnerships across platforms and industries.
• Organize Industry Events: Help plan and promote regular round tables, panels and networking events.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Communication Skills: Your interaction with industry leaders and the public will require frequent and proficient communication. If you are a great listener, have a pleasant but assertive demeanor, and possess clarity of thought, you will find great applications of these skills in our projects.
• Experience: Prior working knowledge of theater is not necessary but some business experience is a must. We are looking for professional, detail-oriented individuals who are positive and curious, with a desire for learning and continuous improvement.
• Time Management: You will be expected to participate in regular meetings and conference calls. In addition to the company-wide 9:30 AM call held every Tuesday, your project manager will set up specific meeting times according to your assignments and availability.
