Open to college/graduate students and high school students, The New 42 Apprentice Program introduces participants to the varied aspects of operating a nonprofit arts organization.
Apprentices gain first-hand experience in a professional performing arts setting, working alongside theater administrators and technicians. Apprentices work in the various departments throughout the organization and participate in educational programming through weekly meetings. They are given opportunities to make connections between their work experience in the company and what they are learning in school through self-reflection, weekly discussions/workshop sessions and one-on-one interaction with department mentors.
This paid apprenticeship is designed to give pre-professionals the tools and strategies to develop a strong foundation for entering the workplace.
“Expect to truly be a part of the staff, expect to work really hard, and expect to have a lot of fun!”–Education Apprentice, Spring 2011
