GROUP SALES AGENT – Signature Theatre

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a GROUP SALES AGENT to support the Box Office Manager and Marketing staff in developing and cultivating relationships with external organizations. Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre Company exists to honor and celebrate the playwright, producing seven to nine productions annually; and, in 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. Signature recently opened the Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices.

The Group Sales Agent is a part-time, seasonal position, without benefits. This position functions within the department of Marketing and Audience Services, and reports directly to the Box Office Manager.

Responsibilities include:
•Researching and developing targeted lists for outreach
•Working with fellow marketing staff to draft letters and emails, and manage direct mail and email campaigns
•Responding to phone calls and emails pertaining to group sales inquiries, for current and upcoming shows
•Processing group sales orders, and creating invoices
•Arranging post-show talk-backs with Literary, Production, and House Management
•Coordinating any group meals with Signature’s Café

Candidates must be highly organized self-starters, who can anticipate needs, and possess excellent phone etiquette, and exemplary customer service and communication skills.

Positive and energetic attitudes are a must.

Ideal candidates will have experience with, or enthusiasm for, building and developing relationships with targeted audiences, as well as experience with ticketing systems, in a professional capacity. Experience with Tessitura is a plus.
