This class, led by Chris Mixon, focuses on the fundamentals of auditioning for the stage. Participants will tackle the audition process as a whole and learn how to immediately apply these tools in order to create an incredible and memorable audition. Along with Stephanie Klapper, actors will explore the audition experience from the point of view of both the actor and the casting director. In addition to practical information, you’ll receive feedback and suggestions on your prepared monologues and be given scenes to prepare for a real-time audition experience. Audition technique comes with practice—and more practice—but don’t use your next audition to learn how to audition!

"He doesn't waste time telling you things you already know. He teaches you how to catch the eyes of casting directors. Now when I go to auditions, it feels like a puzzle I get to figure out - It's exciting. I'm more confident because I know what I'm there to do." ~ Margaret Ivey, currently starring in STARGIRL at People's Light & Theatre on Audition Boot Camp
"Chris provides very useful tips and tools but what is most eye-opening is his holistic approach to crafting a scene or monologue thus putting the power back into the hands of the actor by giving ourselves permission to trust or training and employ our creativity. Auditioning is fun again!" ~ Alyssa H. Chase
