Playhouse Productions is now hiring a Technical Director for our 2013 Equity, five show, summer season for Bucks County Playhouse, one of America’s oldest and storied summer theaters, located right on the Delaware river in beautiful New Hope, Pa. Now into our second full season, we have added state of the art sound, lighting and rigging equipment and need an experienced Technical Director to run and maintain them. He or she will also have the opportunity to work with top designers, a dedicated staff and talented performers. The Technical Director’s responsibilities include:
• Overseeing departmental budgets
• Managing all load ins and out
• Having a strong working knowledge of set construction
• Coordinating venue maintenance, renovation and repairs
• Ability to make repairs to all stage systems
• Working with designers to implement their designs
• Working with vendors to secure optimum benefits
• Scheduling maintenance on all stage equipment
• Maintaining safety and cleanliness backstage
• Attending and filing reports at all status meetings
Qualifications:
Candidate must have good working knowledge of procedures necessary to facilitate dance, music and theater productions. Candidate should have good written and verbal communications skills, a positive attitude, a sense of humor and be able to work closely with all theater personnel. Candidate must have strong organizational skills and be a self starter. Prior Technical Director experience is preferred.
