Seeking actor/musicians for one night performance of Theatrical Folk concert. Banjo players a plus!

Note: The piece includes 4 singing roles and one non-singing role. Due to the ensemble nature of the piece, only the role of Sammy Jones is required to fit a specific vocal range. The other 3 singing roles can fit any of the three ranges listed below. All actors may be asked to perform light percussion parts and live sound effects in the show. You may be asked to perform on a percussion instrument at the audition. Finally, we are also looking for one actor who can whistle a melody on pitch.

Character Breakdown

Sunshine- Late 20s, male- a modern day cowboy on the surface- a square
jawed, straight talking, cynical, doesn't take any guff from anyone.
Underneath, a dreamer who had his heart broken by the dream. Non-singing.

Sammy Jones- Late 20s, male- a passionate, well-spoken idealist,
keeps getting his heart broken and picking himself back up again.
Sushine's ex-boyfriend. Singing.
Range: Tenor 2- G below bass C-B above Middle C

Lancaster Small- 30s-40s, male- a Southern gentleman on the surface,
and a cuthroat corporate executive for a large Tobacco conglomerate
underneath. Singing.
Range:
Either Tenor 1:
A below bass C-Bb above Middle C,
Bari-tenor:
E below bass E to E above Middle C (with a few falsetto voice accents E above Middle C)
or Bass:
E below bass E to Middle C

The Waiter- Late 20s, male- A conscientious waiter n the surface, and
underneath a fiery gang leader who has been stepped on too many times,
and wants his place in the sun. Singing.

Either Tenor 1:
A below bass C-Bb above Middle C,
Bari-tenor:
E below bass E to E above Middle C (with a few falsetto voice accents E above Middle C)
or Bass:
E below bass E to Middle C

The Judge & Others- 20s-30s, male- authority figure, good mover and musician, plays multiple roles. Singing.

Bari-tenor:
E below bass E to E above Middle C (with a few falsetto voice accents E above Middle C)
