Cirque Productions is seeking a talented, motivated, organized individual for a Full-time position as Cutter/Draper in the Dream Studios Costume Shop.

Job Description:

-Interpretation of designs
-Custom Patterning based on designs
-Draping and patterning of costume pieces
-Construction, alteration, and decoration of costumes
-Calculation of yardages and notions needed to complete design projects
-Instruct and supervise Stitchers on construction of costumes
-Tailors, Fits and alters costumes as needed
-Collaborate with designer and director during construction process
-Assists in restocking, organizing and storage of existing inventory
-Construction of large, oddly shaped and abnormal costumes and prop pieces
-Clean and maintain costume shop equipment
-Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean work/shop environment
-Performs other related work as required

Requirments:

-Must have experience and extensive knowledge of stretch fabrics and dancewear
-Ability to skillfully operate industrial and domestic sewing machines and sergers
-Knowledge of costume design and construction processes as well as overall theatre production
-Intimate knowledge of fabric and textiles
-Ability to work productively under time pressures and meet deadlines
-Must have strong communication, research and time management skills
-Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
-Degree in technical theatre, training experience or equivalent education and professional work experience
-Millinery, dying and crafting skills a plus
-Computer literacy, familiar with Word and Excel
-Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
