Blue Man Group at Astor Place Theater, New York, is posting for two Deck Crew positions within the Props department. Applicants should have a fairly flexible schedule and be willing to communicate with the Lead Deck crew member about weekly and monthly scheduling of the shows. Deck Crew members are responsible for a variety of duties within the department and community.

Responsibilities include, performing preset duties, executing show cues as well as turnover & post show duties in a safe, professional and timely manner. Deck Crew members regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Part Time crew members are responsible for clear communication of notes amongst the Stage Manager and Lead. Experience as a member of a backstage running crew is preferred. This position reports directly to the Props Supervisor.

Part Time crew members are guaranteed one show every other week and are encouraged to attend full company meetings. Availability for some daytime work is preferred. Part Time crew members must be more flexible and available for shows during the holiday season, and there is a Holiday Moratorium (Thanksgiving through New Year’s).
