Gorgeous Entertainment is a New York-based theater, film, and special events production company. Theater credits include the Broadway revival of Pacific Overtures, (Roundabout Theater Company, four Tony Award nominations), The Temple of the Golden Pavilion, Pacific Overtures, (Lincoln Center Festival), and Up in the Air (the Kennedy Center), directed by Amon Miyamaoto, Musashi, Modern Noh Plays (Lincoln Center Festival) and Macbeth (BAM), directed by Yukio Ninagawa, A Class Act (Broadway and Tokyo), Big River (North American National Tour and Tokyo), The Fantasticks, directed by Amon Miyamoto (London’s West End), The Producers (Tokyo), and The Sound of Music (Tokyo). Production coordination credits include I Got Merman, Urinetown, Scarlet Pimpernel, Anna Karenina, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Drowsy Chaperone. Film credits include the award-winning films You Think You Really Know Me: The Gary Wilson Story, and Yukie and Oriume. Special events include The Spirit of the East at the United Nations Gallery, an exhibition commemorating the U.N.’s 60th anniversary, the Asian Artists and Concerts’ orchestral performance at the U.N.’s General Assembly, Akiko Wada 40th Anniversary Concert “Power & Soul” at the Apollo Theater, “Hand in Hand” First & Second Concerts at Jazz @ Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater, and the annual Japan Day @ Central Park. This coming May marked the 7th anniversary of Japan Day@ Central Park, an event designed by the Japanese community of New York to promote a deeper understanding of the Japanese culture. Qualifications:
Ideal candidate must have excellent people and communication skills, be personable, responsible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, have a good ability of multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment. He or she also must be able to meet deadlines under any conditions, work in a collaborative setting, “wear many hats” and handle high-stress situations. Must be fluent in business level English and Japanese, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and have positive demeanor and knowledge of the industry. Previous administrative/event planning experience preferred. Experience of working with a Japanese company is a plus.
