To tell you a little bit about Camp Canadensis…
We are a seven week, co-ed, residential camp located in the Pocono Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania (about 90 miles from New York City and 90 miles from Philadelphia). This summer, we will have over 400 campers, ages 7-16. Consequently, we hire over 200 people from all over the world to work as part of our staff.
Currently, we are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and qualified individual to be our Technical Theater Director. We offer a great salary, travel allowance, room and board and laundry service as part of the compensation package. Plus, it’s a whole lotta fun and this would no doubt be a summer position unlike any other!
Details of the Technical Theater Director position would include:
(1) Overseeing all lighting, sound, set design and technical aspects for our two camp productions, typically musicals. Cast and crew ranges between 40-75 campers per show. Shows typically run one hour in length.
(2) Working with backstage crew members for the two shows.
(3) Assisting our Evening Activities Department with any technical needs from lighting to sound to set design.
Applicants should have the following experience / qualifications: (1) Lighting design and set up; lighting board operations. (2) Sound design and set up; sound board operations. (3) Set and prop design; some carpentry experience is a plus. (4) A love for working with kids!
