A company celebrating 20 years of bringing creative dramatization to New York's Off Off Broadway scene and focusing on developing the unique female voice seeks an individual to organize, supervise, and coordinate all Looking Glass productions/events.
• Be at the heart of an Off Off company. Help to form the work and bring our theatre to life The ideal candidate will be extremely organized while also being flexible. As a liaison between the artistic director and the cast/design team, you will create/maintain budgets, schedules and contracts. Coordinate Marketing/Publicity. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Above all, you will have the ability to maintain a positive attitude and be a self starter.
All duties below are under the direct supervision of and often in collaboration with the Artistic Director.
• Schedule expenses for all projects and productions and oversee the management of funds. Basic bookkeeping. Monitor cash flow and budgets and liaise with the company’s accountant
• Hiring (offering positions) and scheduling of the actors/designers/staff. Prepares all contracts. Including creating and issuing all personnel contracts and, dealing with grievances related to the contracts.
• Ensuring that every technical aspect of a production is completed in a safe and timely manner.
• Creating and overseeing budgets; Advise the artistic director and project directors what the financial and technical needs will be for a season or specific production. Once the budget has been agreed upon, you will help determine what funding each of the department’s will need and handle any tweaking of budget that arises along the way.
• Coordinate auditions, photo shoots, rehearsals, performances, fundraising events and other company activities including seeking out and booking/scheduling space and scheduling all staff artists in attendance at each event.
• Assist with all fundraising activities including event planning, grant writing and individual outreach.
• Will have a say in who will be hired (or fired) in most positions.
• Head up marketing and publicity efforts or when a professional publicist is employed work with them in executing their plans.
Pay: You will receive expense reimbursement of $75/month unless the month is completely dark (maybe once or twice a year). You’ll also receive a stipend when we are in production proportionate to the size of each project TBD based on experience.
