Christina Jensen PR is dedicated to telling the stories of today's most vibrant classical musicians. We are motivated by a desire to illustrate the abundance and appeal of today’s classical music world by sharing our clients’ personalities, creativity, and art with the public.
We work with each client to develop an individualized and informed strategic communications plan that includes setting goals, identifying key audiences and messages, and developing methods to convey these messages. The firm regularly secures local, national, and international print, radio, and television coverage and has led successful album publicity and radio airplay campaigns.
Christina Jensen PR seeks a career-minded professional with a desire to work in public relations to fill an Associate Publicist position. At least two years’ work experience in public relations is preferred, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in communication or a related field. Attention to detail, promptness, strong organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ideal candidates will be self-directed and able to work independently, and will be comfortable working in a small office environment with a staff of 2-3 people.
Christina Jensen PR deals exclusively with classical and contemporary classical music. A working knowledge of classical music is preferred, and enthusiasm for new music is a plus.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- drafting press releases and routing to artists, presenters, and managers for approval
- distributing press releases using the Vocus database system
- developing and pitching stories to all manner of media
- writing copy for marketing materials
- maintaining artists’ and company websites
- researching new press contacts and publications
- brainstorming and carrying out creative publicity initiatives
- creating and maintaining press lists for cities throughout the country
- attending artists’ performances in the New York area (evenings and weekends)
The Associate Publicist also serves as office manager, and is responsible for:
- monitoring office supply levels and placing orders as necessary
- organizing and executing occasional large mailings
Compensation: Christina Jensen PR offers a competitive salary for this full-time position, commensurate with experience, plus health and vision insurance, and matched retirement fund (after 1 year of employment).
