ADSV: Invited Audition For 2013 - 2014 Enrollment

Broadway Arts Factory
Category: Classes

Description:

Broadway Arts Factory is a 501(c)3 educational institution devoted to the training of musical theatre students between the ages of 11 and 18. With a triple threat focus, we aim to maximize the potential of every student by finding the most passionate and dedicated, regardless of their monetary background; the sliding scale of program fees is based on the finances of each student's family. The exceptional faculty members are some of the most innovative and creative educators in New York City. They are members of the Broadway community who share a passion for arts education. Our goal is to train and provide mentorship to the next generation of Broadway performers, and our program parallels industry requirements, where versatility is the key to success. We will inspire, inform, challenge, support, and educate each and every student that steps foot in our classroom, helping them to fully realize their dream of one day being on the Broadway stage.

Location: DANY studios. 305 West 38th Street, New York NY 10018

11:45am - 3:00pm

The audition will begin with a group theatre dance audition followed by private voice and acting auditions. Students should bring form fitting dance clothes and either jazz shoes or dance sneakers. Please bring sheet music from a Broadway show and be prepared to sing 32 - 64 bars of the chosen song. Please also prepare a monologue that is age appropriate.

The audition is free of charge but you do need to register before hand. Please send an email to info@broadwayartsfactory.org to request an application form or call 646-543-2823.

If you can not attend a live audition you may submit a DVD or email a URL link to an online video audition. Please read the following information for instructions on recorded auditions.

YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE:

- A dance combination or individual exercises showing line, jumps and turns. You may also submit a performance or routine if it meets the above requirements.

- A voice recording of 32 - 64 bars of a musical theatre song of your choice.

- A monologue or reading that is age appropriate.

If uploading to a video hosting service like youtube or vimeo, passwords and privacy settings can be changed so that we are only given access to view. Please do not email videos because files are too large and take too long to download.

If successful, you will be eligible to join BAF at the start of our new school year in September 2013.

Please email if you have any questions about recorded auditions at info@broadwayartsfactory.org
