My specialty is working with the singing actor on the selection, preparation and presentation of musical theatre materials, both traditional and contemporary. I offer the opportunity to develop/refine performance skills, gain interpretive insights into the activation of text, and assemble a song portfolio tailored to the individual. My methods and techniques help to create spontaneity, liberate the voice and alleviate performance anxiety.

I work out of my home on the Lower East Side in Manhattan and provide all accompaniment, so privacy is assured.

Ted Kociolek is a noted composer, librettist, music director, arranger, vocal coach, educator and pianist. As a writer, he is represented by THE AGE OF INNOCENCE and ABYSSINIA, and has contributed songs to the revues CRAZY LOVE and SHRINKS! by Nicky Silver. Other composing credits include dance and incidental music, cabaret, industrials and special material. Ted has been affiliated with several Broadway shows and worked extensively in regional theater as conductor, keyboardist and/or arranger. As a vocal coach, he has worked at NYU, Long Island University and Goodspeed Musicals.
