The Program Intern for the National Alliance for Musical Theatre is a part time position that will divide time and duties between the Membership Department and New Works Department, assisting in various programs including the administration of the 24th Annual Festival of New Musicals and the Fall Conference.
School credit available as applicable.
Dates/Hours
*May 15 – August 31 (flexible, may start later or end earlier based on school schedules)
*10-15 hours per week over 2 or 3 days
Festival Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
*Assist the Festival Producing Director with the administration and planning of the Festival, including attendee registrations, data entry
*Help prepare for Festival committee meeting to select this year’s Festival
*Assist with Festival registration process, which is done via online registration form (that is shared with the Fall Conference). This will include maintaining the database, replying to Festival invitation queries and tracking responses.
*Assist Festival Producing Director on planning benefit concert for the fall including research on shows and performers, and correspondence to key parties.
*Other projects as assigned.
Fall Conference Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
*Assist with conference registration process (shared with the Festival, see above).
*Answer basic questions about the conference for attendees as needed.
*Email conference information to potential attendees in conjunction with Membership Director.
*Research special events and other needs of the conference.
*Assist in preparing all materials needed for the fall conference including but not limited to conference packets, sponsorship materials, signage, and speaker notes.
*Other projects as assigned.
Other Projects and Duties
*Video editing: Create highlight videos of conference panel archives, and other videos as needed (iMovie)
*Database cleanup and additions as needed.
*Assist the New Works Director and the Membership Director on other programs and projects outside of the Festival and Fall Conference which may include special events, concerts, future conferences, artists feed, reading coverage, database management, research and outreach to regional theatres.
Required Skills:
*Moderate to advanced knowledge of regional theatres, musical theatre and New York theatre industry, and a willingness to learn even more.
*Discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, excellent computer and online skills and a quick learner on new applications. Familiarity with iMovie and Salesforce.com preferred, but not required – we can teach you!
