Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) offers programs for stage directors and choreographers at all levels off career in New York and across the country. SDCF programs include Observerships, Fellowships, public discussions, recognition awards, symposia, job opportunities and podcasts.
We are seeking an SDCF Programs Intern for 12 hours per week to assist through at least August with implementation of upcoming FY14 programs. Responsibilities will include outreach to program participants, tracking applications, compiling demographic data, assisting in assembling selection committees, creating timelines, communicating to both internal and external parties, and writing synopses of programs.
Schedule is flexible but must be consistent each week; in other words, intern schedule can be set around other commitments, but the schedule, once set, should remain the same for the duration of the internship.
Intern will learn about all aspects of program management, develop knowledge of resources for theatre artists, and gain an understanding of the national theatre landscape.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning about arts programming and the theatre landscape. The ability to work in both Word and Excel and comfort using Excel to create basic spreadsheets is essential to this position. Candidates should have the ability to write clearly and think analytically. Punctuality is crucial to our busy office.
Intenship is unpaid with the possibility of school credit (if the educational institution has a policy to allow this).
