Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), an internationally recognized presenter of contemporary performing arts and cinema, seeks a full-time Production Supervisor who will play a key role in supervising and hands-on running all technical aspects of BAM presentations, productions, rentals and special events. The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager. This position begins July 2013.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage events and shows throughout BAM on our mainstages, in our café and throughout the BAM campus
Perform advance work for productions including technical and budget analysis, arrangement of equipment rentals and detailing and scheduling of technical staff and stagehands
Work with artists, musicians, BAM general management staff, union stagehands, wardrobe personnel, and stage managers to present the highest quality shows and events
Production Stage Manage auxiliary events
Provide day to day management of long run productions
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in theater
5 years applicable theatrical work experience.
Experience managing expenditures and creating budgets
Experience creating schedules and meeting deadlines
Excellent oral and writing skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience reading and interpreting drawings and other technical materials
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, PowerPoint, Autocad and Vectorworks
Willing to assist others and work in a team setting
Willing to work on an irregular schedule, often with long hours
Salary is in the high $40K per year, commensurate with experience (Full benefits package is offered for this position)
