A national dance tour is seeking a general Public Relations intern to support the Publicity Manager from April – June 2013. This internship will expose you to the ins and outs of all aspects of producing a national and commercial dance tour - from PR, Marketing, and Event Coordination, you’ll see and do it all!
Desired Skills and Experience:
Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, engaging and detail-oriented self-starters who can successfully juggle multiple tasks. Candidates must be capable of working independently and have access to a personal laptop to work remotely. Outstanding communication, organizational and computer skills required.
Minimum one year of public relations agency or internship experience required. Background in arts and entertainment preferred. You MUST be based in New York.
Responsibilities include:
• Working with Cision database and building media lists, consolidate and update contact lists and research media outlets for potential coverage opportunities
• Regional pitching (radio, print and online)
• Monitoring social media (Twitter/Facebook) for media partnerships and enagagement
• General administrative support and assistance with responding to press requests regarding images, interviews and other inquires
• Monitor, format and circulate all media clips and organize press database on website
• Manage RSVP and guests lists and assist at media events (escort press, photographer, distribute press materials, greet and check-in, etc.)
• Support Tour Manager on media involvement for dance workshops
• Update and maintain press section on website
This is a part-time internship and days/hours will need to remain consistent during the duration of the tour. Small stipend will be offered.
