Waterwell Summer Theater Lab (www.waterwell.org/summer), in NYC's fabled Theater District, offers the dedicated student the opportunity to engage in a three-week training program with world class practitioners whose credits include film & television, Broadway, Off-Broadway, London's West End, International tours, major regional theatres and universities.
Over a New York City summer, the artistic community at STL will showcase brave new works by some of the American theater's rising voices. These new creations will be developed by established professionals, written and designed especially for and in collaboration with our unique student body. They will premiere in the heart of Times Square and, through publication, build upon the catalogue of quality age-appropriate material for theaters and schools world-wide.
STL is also a bridge to the working world. To help achieve their dreams, students have a pre-set curriculum and take classes in acting, singing, dancing and writing. Master classes with major agents, award-winning casting directors and some the industry's most famous names give personal insights into the business. Through ensemble-work, intense collaboration and individual guidance some of the nation's most promising young artists explore the classic and ever-changing worlds of live theater.
Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Claire Danes, Jesse Eisenberg and countless others have all walked, sung, and danced in these hallways.
