Seeking the following ensemble part only:
Male, 50s – 60s, any ethnicity. Owner of the Newlands Corporation, in the process of taking over the yard. Rich. An antagonist, not a villain. Understudies the principal role of FATHER JAMES O’BRIEN (Irish Catholic, in the old-school way. Parish priest but also, unofficially, the chaplain of the shipyard and the shepherd to the men who work there. By turns a comedian, a confessor, a charmer, and prophet. Known to have a pint every now and then. Role played by Fred Applegate). Masculine, rugged, commanding, fiery. Must have the authentic feel of the shipyards of North East England. Think BILLY ELLIOT. Must have movement ability. Baritone with range and depth. FEATURED ENSEMBLE
