Theatrical Publicity Internship

Philip Rinaldi Publicity, specializing in theatrical publicity, is seeking an intern to assist in day-to-day operation within the office. You will learn how a press campaign for a Broadway show unfolds by assisting in, preparing for and executing crucial duties within the campaign.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Day-to-day administrative support
Gathering and filing daily press clippings
Maintaining contact lists and databases
Learning to write press releases, media alerts, and pitches
Sending press releases with breaking news to applicable outlets
Researching outlets to pitch
Assisting with logistics for confirmed interviews, photo shoots, video shoots, etc.
Gathering materials to build a press kit and providing those materials to media contacts
Assistance with events when appropriate

Job qualifications include:
Efficient email, administrative and organizational skills – including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Photoshop
Flexible, energetic and detail-oriented team player
Strong communication skills
Excel under deadline with precision
Good writing and telephone skills
Knowledgeable about media outlets
Research skills
Experience in the theatre industry not required, but a working knowledge is helpful

We are located near Lincoln Center and are looking for someone to start immediately. Please send a full resume and cover letter.

Internship is available for college credit only, and 3 days per week is required, while 5 days is preferred. Office hours are 10am-6pm. This is an opportunity for a fall semester internship with a possibility to extend if desired. Philip Rinaldi Publicity will provide a monthly metro card and weekly stipend.
