Description:

Ohana Arts, a youth performing arts non-profit organization in Honolulu, Hawaii seeks a Choreographer for their upcoming world premiere of “Peace On Your Wings”, a new musical inspired by the life of Sadako Sasaki, a 12-year old innocent victim of the after-effects of the WWII atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945, and her wish for peace. Set in post-war 1950′s Japan, it explores the lives of students at a middle school in Hiroshima as they face the terminal illness of their friend amidst their own adolescent drama. The musical score combines modern pop and japanese influences to create a unique, uplifting, and inspiring show.

Future plans of this musical include a neighbor island tour (Maui, Big Island, and Kauai) of the production in January and February of 2015.

Rehearsal schedule: M, T, Th 4:00-6:00 PM & Sat 9am-2pm

Requirements: We are seeking someone who has extensive experience choreographing for theater and working with youth. Please send a resume, choreography reel, and cover letter.

Compensation: Ohana Arts will provide RT coach airfare, local housing, and a stipend. In addition, there is an opportunity to teach 7 hours/week of dance classes as part of our workshop.
