Education & Outreach
interns assist the Director of Education in coordinating various MCC arts in education programs, namely the MCC Theater Youth Company. This is a terrific opportunity to obtain hands-on experience working in a professional theater company's education department. Interns will spend time in the office performing various administrative tasks, in the classroom as an assistant, and in production for our final Youth Company performances. Additionally, education interns will act as a liaison between all MCC interns and the MCC staff, setting up intern lunches and coordinating one-on-one check-ins with the Director of Education. Experience working with teenagers or arts education is a plus. Ideally looking for a candidate that is available for the entire season to be in the classroom Tuesday - Thursday in the afternoon plus office hours (which can be flexible).
Literary interns act as readers for the MCC Literary Department. Interns are responsible for reading and writing evaluations of scripts submitted to MCC Theater for consideration for production. Additionally, literary interns are expected to assist in coordination and execution of annual PlayLab Reading series, including program printing, tracking attendance, assisting in reception set-up, participating in front of house and receptions. Literary interns spend 8 - 12 hours a week in the MCC offices. The literary internship requires previous experience.
The Marketing intern assists the marketing department in various office duties such as managing audience communications/mailings, conducting research, facilitating audience surveys, maintaining department archives and databases, planning and implementing viral and grassroots marketing efforts. Excel and Social Media experience a must. Photoshop, Dreamweaver a plus.
