Henri - (30’s)

Sprat Artistic Ensemble
Category:Performer

Description:

Sprat Artistic Ensemble (www.sprattheatreco.com) is casting for HENRI, a new play which will be performed at The Smith Center for Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada (rehearsals in NYC). Sprat Artistic Ensemble is partnering with the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, Caesars Foundation, and other members of the surrounding community to bring Henri to Las Vegas. HENRI features a cast ranging in age from 8 to 80, led by Las Vegas native Ryan Elisabeth Reid, a playwright/director in her 20’s whose work has been called “delicate” and “sobering” by the NYTimes. United, they create a composition of moments, feelings and images from the title character’s life. Talkbacks with leaders in Alzheimer’s research and treatment will follow each performance. These discussions will focus on issues discussed in the piece, particularly aging, Alzheimer’s, caregiving, and musical therapy.

Rehearsals are in NYC beginning immediately and are located at CAP21 Studios until September 15, and at Isabella Geriatric Center from September 21-October 11. Rehearsals are 6 times a week (actor will not be called to every rehearsal). The Las Vegas run will be from October 13-26, 2014. Performers must also be available to spend September 15-21 at NACL Theatre in the Delaware-Catskill region for a week-long residency.

COMPENSATION:
$250 weekly, plus travel and lodging in Las Vegas and at NACL Theatre, meals at NACL Theatre, and meals during technical rehearsals in Las Vegas.

SEEKING:
Henri (30's): male, non-Equity, 25-40 (should be able to play mid-30s or older), desire to work collaboratively in an ensemble, dance or yoga background is a plus, piano skills a plus. This role acts as a bridge between actors playing Henri as a child and as an adult with Alzheimer's.
