Miranda Exits as In the Heights Turns One In the Heights creator-star Lin-Manuel Miranda celebrated his departure from the Tony Award-winning musical as the show hit its first year on Broadway Feb. 15. Javier Muņoz as Usnavi in In the Heights Javier Muņoz stepped into the central role of Usnavi in the Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights on Feb. 16. He replaced original star Lin-Manuel Miranda, who conceived and composed the work. In the Heights Wins ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus Actors' Equity Association honored the ensemble of In the Heights Sept. 23 with Equity's Second Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus.
