the last four decades, plus, well, I'll let Kevin Wiinkler and and Herb Scher tell you what
treasures they've pulled out of the archives for this summer's exhibit, titled simply
"Original Cast Albums," and play you some rarely heard cuts. Our CD of the Week the

as Avenue Q, which opens this month Off-Broadway. The show's two young
songwriters, Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez, are here with me today to explain their show,

show.

The cast of the hot new Off-Broadway musical Zanna Don't! is in the
studio this week to show us what they do. The cast album isn't due out
until later this summer, so you're hearing the original cast with the songs
exclusively on Sirius. For Album of the Week I'll play some of the
interesting bonus cuts from the new deluxe collectors edition of a
Broadway classic -- Oliver!, including an interview with its director, who
has some clues about how to handle kids on stage.

Something unusual for you this week: My guest is Ruth Wallis, whose
campy Off-Broadway revue, Boobs!: The Musical, revives her catalog of
songs that were considered scandalous and banned in the 1950s. For
Album of the Week I'll play cuts from a special sampler CD of recent
show music, gathered under the title "Ultimate Broadway II."
June 10, 2003 - Show 64
The Tony Awards are now over, and Broadway is starting a new season of
plays, musicals and revivals, including a planned new Dreamgirls that
includes this number, "Steppin to the Bad Side." For Album of the Week
I'll play cuts from a new album from the composers of Mary Poppins,
who resurrect "lost" songs from their Tommy Tune musical that closed
out of town. Plus, test your knowledge in the weekly Playbill Quiz. But
first, headlines from Playbill On-Line, the internet news service of
Broadway.

The 57th annual Tony Awards will be given Sunday, June 8. Many of the
