Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey takes the Brooklyn Academy of
Music's Harvey stage as the jealous and
ambitious hunchback-who-would-be-king in William Shakespeare's
Richard III. Presented by The Bridge
Project, a classical repertory company created by BAM, The Old Vic
(where Spacey serves as artistic director)
and director Sam Mendes' Neal Street Productions, the classic play
gets a layer of modern political media with
the addition of black-and-white newsreel footage, video simulcasts and
projected titles. Haydn Gwynne (Billy Elliot),
Isaiah Johnson (The Merchant of Venice) and Chandler Williams
(In the Next Room, or the vibrator play)) round
out the British-American cast.
