Into the Woods's Lauren Kennedy: What a Witch!

Lauren Kennedy (Side Show, Sunset Boulevard) and cast mate Britney Coleman give an early rehearsal sample of "Stay With Me" from Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's fairytale-inspired Into the Woods. After seeing the original Broadway production as a teen, Kennedy had no interest in playing the more age-appropriate Little Red Riding Hood. Rather, it was Bernadette Peters' portrayal of the Witch that captured her imagination. After some bargaining, Kennedy's childhood dream finally came true and she was cast in her first-ever Sondheim production. Directed by Westport Country Playhouse’s Mark Lamos (Cymbeline, Seascape), this co-production will first play Baltimore's Centerstage March 7 - April 15 before landing in Westport from May 1 - 26.
