Jonathan Groff and Steven Sater Discuss New Book "A Purple Summer: Notes on the Lyrics of Spring Awakening," Part 1

Tony-winning Spring Awakening librettist and lyricist Steven Sater sat down with stars Jonathan Groff and Lauren Pritchard to talk about his new book "A Purple Summer: Notes on the Lyrics of Spring Awakening." Sater's slim companion reference to the show seeks to reveal the literary and dramatic references that shaped his adaptation of the 1891 Frank Wedekind play, explain some of his puzzling lyrics and detail the processes of working with Groff, Pritchard, Lea Michele, musical collaborator Duncan Sheik and director Michael Mayer.
