Broadway Legend Patti LuPone Conjures "Far Away Places" at 54 Below

Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone shared pieces of Far Away Places, her new act at 54 Below, with the press early in the run of the show, which continues to June 16. Backed by a five-piece band, LuPone sings contemporary pop and Broadway tunes, along with a selection of Paris and Berlin cabaret classics from the 1930s and '40s. In this sneak peek, LuPone sings "Gypsy in My Soul" and "Far Away Places." 54 Below, as the name suggests, is directly underneath the former disco hot-spot Studio 54 (which is now a legit Broadway house). The new 160-seat cabaret will host more Broadway names including Brian d'Arcy James, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Rebecca Luker and Megan Hilty in the upcoming weeks.
