A Day In The Life: An Actor On His Very First Day on Broadway

Although it was announced that Jesus Christ Superstar was approaching the end its Broadway run, the production was still able to make a Broadway dream come true this past spring. Longtime Off-Broadway and regional performer Leo Ash Evens was cast as the Apostle Phillip in a temporary replacement role through July 1. Playbill met Evens just as he was leaving home and heading out to the Neil Simon Theatre for final rehearsal. We tagged along as Evens talked about fueling up for the long day, his love of the Upper West Side and his anticipation of his long-awaited (finally!) Broadway debut.
