Jessica Chastain, Dan Stevens and the Cast of The Heiress Bring 1850 Washington Square to 2012 Broadway

Jessica Chastain ("The Help"), Dan Stevens ("Downton Abbey"), David Strathairn ("Good Night, and Good Luck") and Judith Ivey (Hurlyburly, Steaming) are starring in a revival of Ruth and Augustus Goetz's The Heiress, beginning previews on Broadway on Oct. 7. The four stars, along with their director Moisés Kaufman (I Am My Own Wife), spoke to Playbill about how the play, based on Henry James' 1880 novel "Washington Square," is still relevant to audiences today. They also talk about how they've been exploring the world of 1850 Washington Square, including visiting The Merchant House - a preserved Greenwich Village home, similar to the one where the play's Sloper family would have lived.
