Characters Expose "Authentic Selves" in Bare

Director Stafford Arima is joined by Jon Hartmere (book and lyrics), Lynne Shankel (music supervision and additional music), Travis Wall (choreography) and the cast of Bare to talk about the new Off-Broadway production of the rock musical. First conceived and performed as a sung-through "pop opera," this latest version includes book scenes and new songs that seek to create deeper and more nuanced characters in the coming-of-age story about teens, repression and sexuality at a Catholic high school. Bare's characters are "works in progress," emotionally, seeking to find their authentic selves in a time of turmoil. For more on the show, click here.
