EXCLUSIVE: Elf Songwriters Preview New Opening Number, "Happy All the Time"

Based on the modern Christmas film classic starring Will Ferrell and Bob Newhart, Elf is the story of Buddy, a human raised amongst Santa Claus' elves who leaves the North Pole for New York City in hopes of discovering his true identity. In preparation for the musical's return to Broadway, songwriters Chad Beguelin (lyrics) and Matthew Sklar (music) took at look back at the show and a look forward at the qualities of the new cast members, especially the extra-dry wit of Wayne Knight, set to play Santa. In this exclusive rehearsal room look, Beguelin and Sklar give us a preview of the show's new opening number "Happy All the Time." For a photo gallery of the production, click here.
