The "Disorganized Crime" of Mark Acito's How I Paid For College
Actor Alex Brightman and author Marc Acito talk about Acito's "monologue-with-songs," How I Paid For College, based on his 2004 award-winning novel of the same. The Hub Theatre world-premiere production in Virginia stars Brightman as Edward Zanni (as well as dozens of other characters), a recent high school grad with little direction in life who spends his days with a group of theatre friends. When his father remarries and pulls the plug on his dreams, Edward turns to a life of "disorganized crime" in pursuit of his goals. Hub Theatre artistic director Helen Pafumi directs the limited engagement through Dec. 30 in Fairfax, VA. For more on the show, click here.
