Fiorello!, Getting an Encore at Encores!, Rehearses
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, New York City Center Encores! opens its 2013 season with Fiorello!, the same musical that kicked off its inaugural season back in 1994. This Pulitzer Prize-winning tale of New York City Mayor Fiorello H. LaGuardia charts his rise from an immigrant's son to a feisty Congressman who brought down the Tammany Hall political machine. The 1959 musical features a book by Jerome Weidman and George Abbott, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.
