Audra McDonald: 2012 Tony Winner for Best Actress in a Musical

Audra McDonald is now the youngest-ever five-time Tony Award winner, joining the ranks of leading ladies Angela Lansbury and Julie Harris. After four Tonys for Best Featured Actress, McDonald took the Best Actress in a Musical award for her turn as downtrodden-but-determined Bess in the Diane Paulus-directed The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. McDonald talked to the press immediately after her historic June 10 win, sharing her early musical-theatre education and her advice for youngsters interested in life on the stage, as well as pre-show routines and what makes a good pizza.
