Cast of The Mystery of Edwin Drood Unveils William Ivey Long Costumes

A whodunit in which an audience vote decides the guilty party, Rupert Holmes’ (book, music, lyrics) The Mystery of Edwin Drood employs a play-within-a-play structure. Based on the titular unfinished Charles Dickens novel, the musical draws from English music hall tradition with the lead role of Edwin Drood played by a woman (Stephanie J. Block) in male dress. Block co-stars with Chita Rivera, Will Chase, Jessie Mueller and Jim Norton. Playbill caught up with the cast for a sneak peek of their William Ivey Long designed costumes. Scott Ellis directs the Warren Carlyle choreographed show arriving at Broadway's Studio 54 on Oct. 19. To see the Playbill for this production, click here.
