Closer Than Ever: A Cult Classic Redefined

With real-world adult responsibilities and challenges as its focus, Closer Than Ever is a musical revue with lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire. This intimate musical developed a cult following for its 1990 Off-Broadway original cast recording, featuring songs about aging, unrequited love, divorce, remarriage and feelings of security. The show returns Off-Broadway to the York Theatre at Saint Peter’s starring Jenn Colella (Urban Cowboy, High Fidelity), George Dvorsky (The Scarlet Pimpernel), 2010 Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime, Jekyll & Hyde) and Sal Viviano (The Full Monty). Lyricist-director Maltby helms this York Theatre Company production. For more on the show, click here.
