EXCLUSIVE: The Von Trapp Children Unearth Memories From "The Sound of Music"

The 1965 film "The Sound of Music" is one of the most beloved movie musicals ever made. Now, over 45 years after the film was released, the seven actors who played the von Trapp children have created "The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook," collecting their personal photos, letters, home movies and memories of the filming and their lives afterward. Three of the actors — Heather Menzies (Louisa), Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich) and Kym Karath (Gretl) — stopped by the Playbill office to take us on a tour through the book and their favorite "Sound of Music" memories. Read more about "The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook," in the Playbill Book Shelf column.
