The 20th-century evangelical superstar Aimee Semple McPherson — the American religious leader who staged provocative illustrated sermons, fed the hungry and famously vanished — will sing on Broadway this fall when Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson opens at the Neil Simon Theatre. In this exclusive video offered by the producers, Kathie Lee Gifford, who wrote the book and lyrics for the musical, and Carolee Carmello, who stars as McPherson, give a peek into the life of McPherson and explain why she was important.
