Highlights From A Raisin in the Sun Starring Denzel Washington and LaTanya Richardson Jackson

Lorraine Hansberry's classic play A Raisin in the Sun tells the story of an inner-city African-American family trying to buy a house in a predominantly white Chicago neighborhood. They discover that their fight against the racist elements in the neighborhood demands a greater commitment than they realized. LaTanya Richardson Jackson and Denzel Washington star as Lena Younger and Walter Lee Younger, a mother and son with two very different ideas about how to approach the future of their family. Kenny Leon directs the production at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Performances run through June 15. Read the Playbill story.
