Highlights From Martha Clarke's Chéri Starring Amy Irving

Martha Clarke's world-premiere of Chéri opened Off-Broadway Dec. 8 at the Signature Theatre Company. Inspired by the Colette novel of the same title, this new work is a fusion of theatre, live music, and dance. Set in Paris' Belle Époque era, the story of forbidden love between a young man and an older woman features Academy Award nominee Amy Irving, American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Herman Cornejo, prima ballerina assoluta Alessandra Ferri and pianist Sarah Rothenberg. Performances run through Dec. 29. Read the Playbill story.
