Highlights from Rocky the Musical in Germany

The world premiere of Rocky the Musical — written by Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty and Thomas Meehan — opened in a German-language production at the TUI Operettenhaus in Hamburg, Germany on Nov. 18. American actor Drew Sarich stars as underdog boxer Rocky Balboa in the musical based on the Oscar-winning film. Sylvester Stallone, who created the story, wrote the screenplay and starred in the 1976 source film, is a co-producer of the stage version with Stage Entertainment and Vitali & Wladimir Klitschko.
