Highlights From The Color Purple at Chicago's Mercury Theater

Broadway's Trisha Jeffrey (Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, All Shook Up) stars as Celie in The Color Purple at Chicago's Mercury Theater. Adapted from the 1983 Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Alice Walker, music and lyrics are by Grammy Award winners Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray. Book is by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Marsha Norman. L. Walter Stearns directs the production, which runs through Oct. 27. For more, read the Playbill story.
