In Their Own Words (and Music): Dogfight's Pasek & Paul Share "Some Kinda Time"

2007 winners of the Jonathan Larson Award, up-and-coming songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (James and the Giant Peach, A Christmas Story) continue their journey in the world of musical theatre with their latest project, Dogfight, at Off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre to Aug. 19. The story of three young Marines engaging in a night of fun, debauchery and cruel pranks before being deployed to fight in Vietnam, Dogfight features original songs that pulse with the rhythms of the changing times. Playbill invited Pasek and Paul to share a slice of their score in a studio, so they preview "Some Kinda Time," a celebration of the boys' night on the the town — and their goodbye to the innocence of early-1960s Americana.
