OBSESSED!: Julie James Likes, Heck No, She LOVES New Music!

Julie James is known as a Sirius XM radio personality with an expertise in all things Broadway, but she is a classically trained vocalist in her own right. As OBSESSED! fans more than likely recall, Seth Rudetsky (who also happens to have a Sirius XM gig) is also classically trained. So, what happens when two Broadway megafans got together in a studio with a piano? Why, they skewer the pretensions of conservatory training, of course! With straight tone, skipped beats and atonal sounds in tow, the pair ran through Aaron Hagen's hilarious "New Music," an ode to twentieth-century composers who use, shall we say, less than traditional song writing and musical techniques. Check out Seth's weekly column. Visit, Seth's online home.
