PLAYBILL EXCLUSIVE: In Rehearsal With Michael Feinstein and His Cy Coleman Tribute

Renowned pianist, performer and nightclub impresario Michael Feinstein has made it his duty to keep the Great American Songbook alive. Serving as the director of the Jazz and Popular Song Series at Jazz at Lincoln Center, he does just that. In this season's second offering "Cy Coleman: Bringing Jazz to Broadway," (with performances May 15 and 16) Feinstein is joined by guest artists Michele Lee, James Naughton, Tamara Tunie, Chuck Cooper and Johnny Rodgers to celebrate the jazzy swing of Coleman's classic Broadway show tunes. Playbill cameras were on hand in rehearsal as Feinstein and Rodgers ran through songs like "I've Got Your Number," "It's Not Where You Start," "It Amazes Me" and "The Best Is Yet to Come."
